Vernon Lights Festival is the brainchild of Baoli Zhang, who purchased the former 96-acre Camp Sussex in the Glenwood Lake Area of Vernon Township, NJ in 2016. Zhang and a team of investors from CPAA North America are unveiling a new cultural, arts, education and performance center, to be constructed over the next several years. The center will be dubbed Glenwood Lake Arts Park. Produced by CPAA North America, Inc. and Hello Panda Festival Productions, the Vernon Lights Festival will be held on the grounds of the future Glenwood Lake Arts Park at 1733 Glenwood Road, County Rd 565, Sussex, NJ 07461.
The Vernon Lights Festival is the first of many activities planned for the new Glenwood Lake Arts Park. The festival celebrates the fine art or Chinese lantern making with magical displays of light and color, handcrafted by world class artisans. Other attractions include cultural performances, creativity pavilions, a children’s playground, food trucks and holiday marketplace.
“We are offering Class Trips and free tickets for local school students to visit Vernon Lights Festival. We also have a limited schedule of our festival artists who are planning to schedule demonstrations and assemblies for area schools. The response has been encouraging and the local school community has been very excited and supportive!”
“We’ve rolled out a local school and community outreach program to share the festival’s unique cultural and arts elements. Local school districts are embracing the rare opportunity to include school assemblies and class trips in their fall calendar of events. The Vernon Lights Festival team is also providing thousands of free tickets to area school children.”
